Re-Opening FAQs

We are thrilled that as we’ve entered Phase 2 of WA State’s Safe Start Plan, we are able to add small group in-studio classes to the schedule. Don’t see your question here? Shoot us an email at info@flightroomseattle.com. We 💚 you!

Our complete studio schedule is available for viewing at www.flightroomseattle.com/schedule. Right now, in-studio small group classes are capped at a max of 5 students and when we enter Phase 3, (potentially July), we plan to add three additional spots to each class.

What will the new schedule look like? When will Ballard open?

What are the new pass/plan options?

One of the biggest changes is our smaller class sizes (limited to 5 students during Phase 2 and 6-8 students during Phase 3.) To reflect this new semi-private format, our plans and passes will change until we’re again able to open at full capacity. The exception to this is our annual plan, which will continue to offer unlimited classes. We are offering specials on all plans and passes prior to re-opening. To read more about your options and to reserve your plan (you can select a start date anytime before August 15), click here. If you are a current annual or monthly member, we have reached out via email with info on your plan and options.

We plan to open a second studio as soon as it’s feasible within three miles of the current Hiawatha space and are looking at locations between Belltown and Columbia City. Before we dive into a new studio, our first priority is making sure we re-open Ballard safely. As soon as we feel confident it is safe to get going on a new space, rest assured we will get moving! We opened our Ballard studio in just a few months, so once we decide on a space, you can plan on a quick opening. The more students who keep their memberships active, the more feasible it will be to open a second spot in the near-term. So, if you’re excited for a new space, we’d encourage you to keep or sign up for a monthly plan!

I heard CD is closing. Are you opening another location?

Your health and comfort is our #1 priority! We fully support you in making decisions that prioritize the health of you and your loved ones. For our students who will not be ready to return to a group setting for a while, we recommend either one-on-one sessions or switching to a virtual membership until you’re ready to join us in person.

Rest assured that we will do everything in our power to make our studio as clean and safe as humanly possible, including washing hammocks after each use.

I’m not sure I’ll be comfortable attending group classes for a while.

Since we will be live streaming 2-4 aerial classes each day, lots of our students are interested in getting set up at home.

Getting a home rig installed is often easier and less expensive than you might imagine (a full kit including your hammock, daisy chains and carabiners starts at under $80.) We use Uplift Active for our aerial hammocks and daisy chains and have had great luck with their products and customer service. They also sell freestanding rigs, which is a safe and easy to install option for a home practice (and you can even use it outside when the weather is nice.)

If you install into your ceiling, you will definitely want the expertise of a licensed contractor and/or structural engineer as not all ceilings are suitable to support your swinging weight.

I am interested in taking online aerial classes from home. Where do I start?
